Biography

I live in Paradise, on a small farm with a creek running through it, lovely trees, flowers and veggies, and my dog. It’s a sweet life here in Southern Oregon.

I’ve been a right brain person all my life, I am obsessed with creating. Especially loving three dimensional work, I became enamored with welding old pieces of farm equipment and rusted tools in assemblages. What others threw out as “junk” I collected, put in some mythical form, and like music it sang to me, like a symphony! It made me happy and I was hooked!

My creative style uses organic shapes, I am not geometric or precise. Experimentation excites me. Dealing with change, being present for what this moment holds, and stepping aside from wanting to control. This allows for chance, or a delicious accident!

All this helps me in finding inspiration, working with my emotions or tracking what’s moving me now and why? Getting inside, peeling things away, and discovering who I am and how I fit in this crazy world. It also gives me a sense of being connected to everything on this glorious planet, and reminds me to step lightly and honor my place in the mix!

I have had my work at Hanson Howard Gallery in Ashland for ten years. My work has been exhibited at Portland Community College, Rogue Gallery and Art Center in Medford, Oregon. Maude Kerns Art Center in Eugene, Oregon., the Wiseman Gallery in Grants Pass and Pascal Winery in Ashland.

After completing my BA in theatre and art at the State University of Iowa, I was married and created four beautiful children. I enjoyed acting, and taught theatre to middle school children, and wrote and directed Children’s theatre. Later I began a 15 year career as a non profit director for: a public interest law firm, a museum, Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago and The Oregon Zoo, Grant Park Symphony, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

Life has been good to me!
